GOVER, Charles Edward. 1835? — Madras 18.9.1872 (not 20.9.). British Indologist and Folklorist in India. Son of Thomas G. of Poplar, Middlesex. From 1864 Principal and secretary of the Madras Military Orphan Male Asylum at Egmore. Defended, against others, the Aryan roots of Dravidian languages.
