MCKENZIE, John. Turriff, Aberdeenshire 13.6.1883 — Edinburgh 30.10.1955. Rev. British (Scottish) Teacher and Scholar in India. Son of Andrew McK., educated at Gordon’s College in Aberdeen and at Aberdeen University (M.A. 1904), at New College, Edinburgh and at Tübingen University. Ordained as priest in 1908. From 1908 Professor at Wilson College in Bombay, from 1921 its Principal, until 1944. President of Bombay Anthropological Society 1927-29, Vice-Chancellor of Bombay University 1931-33. D.D. 1934 Aberdeen. C.I.E. 1944. In retirement lived in Edinburgh. Married in 1912 with Agnes Ferguson Dinnes.
