CHRISTIAN, John. 18?? — 1???. Britishman (?) in India. In 1847 JC Esq. was in Monghyr, 1854 indigo planter there. Keay says that J.C. wrote hymns in Hindi, and died c. 1883. But in 1890 he signed the introduction in Tirhut. Perhaps there were two people of the same name? As early as 1823 the Asiatic Journal announced the marriage of the eldest daughter of J.C. Esq. of Monghyr.
