YOUNGSON, John  Forbes White. Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire 6.3.1852 — India 27.6.1920. British (Scottish) Missionary in India. Son of Alexander Y. and Helen Chapman, educated at Pitsligo and Skene Schools. Studies at Aberdeen: M.A. 1873, B.D. 1884. Joined Church of Scotland Mission and served from 1875 in Sialkot, then in Gujrat and, from 1900, in Jammu. In 1905-06 Moderator of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church, India, retired in 1907 and returned soon to the Punjab for the rest of his life. D.D. 1893 Aberdeen. Married 1875 Helen Mair, six sons and four daughters.
