GROSSET, Joanny. Lyon (Rhône) 29.3.1862 — 1931. French Pioneer of the Study of Indian Music. From the university of Lyon, a student of Regnaud (who wrote the Preface to the 1898 book). Licencié-ès-lettres. Unfortunately, he shared some ideas of his time, looking for “pure, original Aryan music”. He gave ideas about Indian music to Messiaen.
