HASKELL, Willabe (Willoughby). Freeport, Cumberland, Maine 19.8.1839 — New Haven, Conn. 7.5.1913. U.S. Scholar and Journalist. Son of William H. and Lydia Stockbridge. Graduated 1855 from Dartmouth College. Worked ten years as teacher of Greek and Latin at East Maine Conference Seminary, then further studies at Yale. Ph.D. 1876 Yale (under Whitney). From 1875 librarian of Yale University Reading Room in New Haven, retired 1905. Married 1870 Lauriette Stone, two daughters.
