HUTH, Otto. Bonn 9.5.1906 — Tübingen 1998. German Scholar of Religion. Professor in Tübingen. Son of a neuropathologist. From 1925 studied theology at Bonn, Kiel and Marburg. Ph.D. 1932 Bonn (under C. Clemen in comparative religion). Joined the NSDAP in 1928. In 1935 met Hermann Wirth, collaborated with him and Hauer and 1937 joined the Ahnenerbe. From 1939 PD at Tübingen. During the war PD 1941 and 1942-44 Professor and Director of Institute for Indo-Germanic Religious History at the Reichsuniversität Straßburg. From 1942 and after the war Professor at Protestant Theological Faculty, Tübingen, retired 1971.
