KEITH, James Blaikie. 1837 — 19??. British (Scottish) Colonial Officer in India. Major. From 1882 Assistant Curator of Ancient Monuments, then in 1885 he was Archaeological Surveyor of NW Provinces of India (now Uttar Pradesh), soon succeeded by his Assistant A. A. Führer. Apparently he was more interested in handicraft than archaeology and not much appreciated by Burgess. In 1896/99 living in retirement in England.
