PAGE, James Alfred. Garleston, Suffolk 15.2.1887 — Hertfordshire 8.1. 1978. British Architect and Archaeologist in India. Son of James Sperring Page (1854–1902) and Mary Ann Gibbs. In 1910-15 studied at Royal Academy. Worked in Delhi at least from 1918. Superintendent of A.S.I. (1926). Retired 193?. Married 1929 Enid Ida Heron-Maxwell Canter (1890?–1962).
