BIANCHI, Ugo. Cavriglia, Arezzo 13.10.1922 — Firenzuola 14.4.1995. Italian Scholar of Iranian Religion. Studies in Rome under Pettazzoni. From 1954 PD of History of Religions, 1960-62 Professore straordinario and 1963-71 ord. of History of Religions at Università di Messina, then 1971-74 Professor at Bologna, and from 1974 until death Professor of History of Religion at University of Rome. Also taught at Vatholic University of Milano (from 1972) and at Pontifical University Urbaniana in Rome (from 1977). Interested in Zoroastrianism, Manichaeism, and Gnosticism.
