The General Report on the Topographical and Revenue Surveys of the Bengal Presidency for season 1863-64 p. 11 in pahar.in says that Captain A. B. Melville, Topographical Assistant of Kashmir Survey, eas in 1864 given the charge of Gwalior Survey. But the article in JASB is by “Captain W. R. Melville, in charge, Gwalior Survey” and in the text he dates his find in 1863.
