MISIEWICZ, Władysław. Lemberg (L’viv) 11.4.1910 — 1.11.1997. Polish Bauddha. After matriculation worked in various clerical posts, finally as the head of a reference library in Radom (retired 1977). In the WW II served in cavalry, then German war prisoner in Austria. During imprisonment became interested in Buddhism and later began learning Pāli. He was a Theosophist and an Esperantist and had to work underground during communist rule. Never formally adopted Buddhism.

Publications: Wrote on Buddhism in Esperanto.

– An elementary Pāli grammar, Polish translation of Practical Buddhism by Nyayasatta and of The Heart of Buddhist Meditation by Nyayaponika (1960), etc.
