KING, Cuthbert

KING, Cuthbert. Madingley, Cambridgeshire 1889 — 19??. British Civil Servant in India. Son of Rev. Dr. Edward George King and Mary Westcott. Educated at Sherborne school. M.A. Served in the North-West. Deputy Commissioner (1930/35), then Commissioner of Lahore (1943) and Rawalpindi Division (1946). C.I.E. 1946. Mentioned as living 1958. Married Elsie Vivienne Harris (1887–1960), at least one son. Interested in numismatics.

Sources: Stray notes in Internet, mainly on his wife finding the Taxila cross in 1935. Birthplace, parents, school and wife in ancestry.com and Sherbourne school register for C. King born 1889, but it is not certain, whether he is the same C. King as ours.
