ROLLAND, Romain. Clamecy 29.1.1866 — Vézelay 30.12.1944. French author interested in Indian Thought, Personal Friend of Gandhi and Tagore. Also a firm catholic. Wrote novels, short stories, dramas and essays. Nobel Prize of Literature 1915. Son-in-Law of Michel Bréal (1892).
