ROSITZKE, Harry August. Brooklyn, N.Y. 25.2.1911 — Warrenton, VA 4.11.2002.U.S. Linguist. Studied at Union College in Schenectady, NY, A.B. 1931, then at Harvard, Ph.D. 1935 in Germanic philology. In 1935-36 studied phonetics at Hamburg, then taught English at Harvard, University of Omaha, and University of Rochester. In WW II from 1942 in U.S. army. In 1947-70 worked as spy against Soviet Union for Central Intelligence Agency (C.I.A.). Some time served in India. In retirement lived in a cattle farm writing books about espionage. Died of pneumonia. Married Barbara, children.
