Kand. ist. nauk 1938, Dr. 1939. In 1913-18 taught in women’s courses and in 1926-31 and 1948 at Leningrad University, chair of Iranistics. In 1913-18 also worked in Archaeological Commission, then naučnyj sotrudnik in Hermitage in 1921-28, at Academy of History and Material Culture, at Archaeological Institute from 1919, at Uzbek Filial AN 1914-43 and Armenian AN 1943-45. From 1943 Corresponding Member of Russian Academy.
