THOMPSON, Malcolm Stuart Haughton. 1 Madras 1885 — London 1966. British Tamil Scholar. Son of Robert William Thompson (1843–1919) and his wife Ada Helen Maude (1860–1893). B.A. Worked as teacher in Tamil Nadu, in 1931-32 Principal of Rajahmundry College. Then Inspector of schools in Bangalore (1940). Taught Tamil at S.O.A.S.
