ANDREW, William

ANDREW, William. 1??? — 1???. Apparently an Englishman who had been in India. His both grammars were meant for the students of Haileybury East India College by the author, who was then living in Woodford, Essex, although, as he states in the preface of the second, originally written for private use. On the title page he defines himself as A.M.

Publications: A Comprehensive Synopsis of the Elements of Hindoostanee Grammar. L. 1830; similar work on Persian also 1830.

Sources: The great number of persons with W.A. as first names makes Internet almost useless. Not member of R.A.S. in 1835.
