JOHNSON, John James. 18?? — ?.12.1917. Rev. British Missionary in India. Educated at Islington College. Worked in Benares, for Church Missionary Society On leave graduated M.A. 1903 from Durham University, in German.. He was known of his excellent command of Sanskrit and called “Pandit Johnson”.

Publications: Edited and translated Rāmānuja’s Vedāntatattvasāra in Pandit 9-11, 1887-90, new ed. 96 p. 1898.
