FROST, Andrew Hollingworth

FROST, Andrew Hollingworth. Hull 26.4.1819 — Cambridge 24.2.1907. British Missionary and Mathematician. Son of Charles Frost, a solicitor and antiquary. From 1838 studies at Cambridge (St. John’s College), B.A. 1842, M.A. 1846. Teacher of mathematics in Manchester. Ordained deacon 1848, then curate in England. In 1853-69 Church Missionary Society’s missionary in Nasik. In 1870-74 Principal of the Church Missionary College in Islington, 1875-78 Rector of Thistleton, Rutland and 1878-82 Curate of Croxton in Lincolnshire. In 1884-1902 Lecturer in Marathi at Cambridge. Married 1844 Cora Dixon (d. 1848) and 1850 Margaret Atkinson, children.
