ROUSSEAU, Pierre

ROUSSEAU, Pierre Édouard Léon (pseudonym Pierre Vellones). Paris 29.3.1889 — Paris 17.7.1939. French Physician, Composer and Painter. Son of a physician. Educated at Collège Stanislas. Studied medicine, from 1914 physician in the army. After 1926 seriously ill (multiple myeloma). He was rather noted composer with wide production of different genres (including the ballet Le Paradis d’Amitabha 1938).

Publications: “L’art du Tibet:”, RAA 4, 1927, 21-39 (les peintures), 83-97 (l’architecture).
