ZWALF, Wladimir (“Volodja”). 30.8.1932 — Cambridge ?.9.2002. British Indologist and Librarian. Son of economist Meijer Max Zwalf (1901–1954) and Maria (Manja) Schwarz (1904–1980, a Russian Jew), born in England. In 1952-55 studies at Lincoln College, Oxford (Sanskrit under Burrow). In 1957-62 Assistant Keeper in charge of Sanskrit, Prakrit, Pali and Avestan collections in India Office Library. From 1962 Assistant Keeper at Department of Oriental Printed Books and Manuscript in British Museum. Retired 1993. Married, at least one child.
