LOBEDANZ, Edmund Adolf Johannes. Schleswig 10.12.1820 — Copenhagen 21.10.1882. German Author and Translator in Denmark. Originally a pharmacist, from 1844 studied at Philosophical Faculty, Kiel. Travelled in Germany. Living in Copehagen, from 1853 secretary in the State Department of Church and Schools. Committed suicide. His free metric renderings of Indian classics seem to be based on existing translations.
