MCCULLOCH, William. 28.2.1816 — 1885. British Colonial Officer in India. Son of John Ramsay McC., educated at Addiscombe. Joined the army and went to Calcutta in 1835. Served in Native Infantry, from 1840 Assistant to Political Agent in Manipur, in 1845-63 and 1864-67 himself Political Agent there. Retired as Lieutenant-Colonel from the army in 1867.
