MONAHAN, Francis John

MONAHAN, Francis John. Dublin 1865 — London 20.11.1923. British (Irish) Civil Servant and Historian of India. Son of James Henry Monahan, the Chief Judge of Ireland, and Frances Obriene/O’Beirne. From 1883 studied at Oxford (Balliol College),1885 joined I.C.S. Served in Bengal and Assam. Married 1900 Ida O’Kelly (1872–1957).
