CARSTAIRS, George. Glasgow 11.2.1880 — 26.4.1948. British (Scottish) Missionary in India. Son of Rev. George Lindley Carstairs, educated at Albany Academy. Graduated M.A. from Glasgow University in 1901. From 1907 missionary of Church of Scotland in Alwar, Rajasthan, later also in other places Finally retired and returned to Scotland (Edinburgh). D.D. 1935 Glasgow. Married Elizabeth Huntley Young, several children, Father of —> Morris Carstairs (1916–1991).
