IVe section, Histoire et philologie de l’Inde moderne, until 1988, also until 1971 part-time Director of Centre de recherches of É.F.E.O. in Pune and visited it regularly until 1982. From 1968 also Professeur titulaire of Langues, littératures et civilisation de l’Inde médiévale et moderne at Sorbonne. Retired in 1988, succeeded by Mallison. Unmarried, two adopted children. Among her students were Nicole Balbir and F. Mallison.
