MEKLER, Georg Karl. 3.2.1858 (or 8.2.) — 19??. Baltic German (Livonian) Linguist. Studies of classical and comparative philology in 1877–84 at Dorpat, in 1885–86 further studies at Berlin and Göttingen. Mag. gr. comp. 1887 Dorpat. From 1887 teacher (Oberlehrer) of Latin at gymnasium (Katharinen-Schule) and PD of Comparative Grammar at St.Petersburg University. Still mentioned as gymn. teacher and PD (of Sanskrit) in Intern. Taschenbuch für Orientalisten 2, 1910, 159 (as Mäckler).
