MACNICOL, Nicol. Catacol, Lochranza, Isle of Arran 26.2.1870 — Edinburgh 13.2.1952. Rev. British (Scottish) Missionary and Marathi Scholar. Son of the local minister. Studies at Glasgow High School and University. M.A. 1891, D.Litt. 1901, D.D. 1928 Glasgow. From 1895 missionary of the United Free Church of Scotland Mission, first at Wilson College in Bombay and from 1901 in Poona (1917). Retired and settled in Edinburgh. Married.
