DANIBEGOV, Rafail (Rap‘iel Danibegašvili). 1775 — 18??. Georgian Traveller. Son of Osefa (Joseph) D. A wealthy merchant in Tbilisi, he made two journeys to India, in 1795–98 and 1799–1813, in the first time carrying the presents of King Heraclius II of Georgia to Iakov Shahamirian of Madras, the second time in Russian service using Central Asian route. In his book he combines the two journeys and gives no dates. Married, children.
