FORBES, Lestock Reid. Scotland 25.11.1835 — Brentford, Middlesex 5.12.1909. British (Scottish) Civil Servant in India. Son of John Alexander Sutherland Forbes (1797–1840) and Harriet Georgiana Prother. In 1871 he was Extra Assistant Commissioner in Palámau (Jharkand). In 1882-84 and 1887 District Magistrate in Rangamati (now in eastern Bangladesh). Married 1862 Sarah Charlotte Johnstone (1843–1925), four daughters and two sons.
