EVERETT, Charles Carroll. Brunswick, Maine 19.6.1829 — Cambridge, MA 16.10.1900. U.S. Unitary Theologian interested in Indian Philosophy. Professor in Harvard. Son of Ebenezer Everett, a lawyer and banker, and Joanna Batchelder. Graduated from Bowdoin College in 1850 (A.M., then D.D. and LL.D.), further studies in Berlin. Worked two years as Tutor and two years as Professor of Modern Languages, all four years also as College Librarian, at Bowdoin College. In 1859 graduated D.D. at Harvard Divinity School. In 1859-69 worked as pastor of Unitarian church in Bangor, Maine. From 1869 Professor of Theology and from 1878 dean of Harvard Divinity School. Married 1859, at least one daughter.
