TOLBORT, Thomas William H.

TOLBORT, Thomas William Hooper. Dorchester (?) 1842 — Dorchester 1883, when 41. British Civil Servant in India. Son of Hooper Tolbort (1804–1842) and his wife Joanna (1805–1873). I.C.S. examination in 1862. Served in Bengal. Retired for health reasons and returned to the U.K., but died soon. A friend of Thomas Hardy. Married 1875 Clare Cunliffe (d. 1879).
