HUTCHISON, John. 1848 — Chamba 24.7.1936 (when 88). British (Scottish) Missionary in India. Studied medicine in Edinburgh. Medical missionary of the Church of Scotland in the Punjab. Graduated in 1871 and left for India, where he spent the rest of his life. Worked in Sialkot, then in Chamba. Retired around 1930. Collaborated with Vogel and M. A. Stein. Married Margaret Andrew, two daughters.
Publications: Guide to Dalhousie, Chamba and the inner mountains between Simla and Kashmir. 1872, 4th ed. 75 p. Lahore 1923.
