SAUER, Wilhelm

SAUER, Wilhelm. 24.4.1835 — 1906. German Schoolteacher. Son of butcher Jakob Sauer from Waiblingen. Gymnasium Professor in Stuttgart. In his study he compared Indian and German epic legends.

Publications: Mahabhárata und Wate. Eine indogermanische Studie. 74 p. Progr. des Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart 1892-93. St. 1893.

Sources: Untraced, except the study scanned by HathiTrust (this at least showed that he is not the archivist W.S. as was supposed in my first version); finally, archivportal-d.de gave life dates and father (2026).
