B.A. 1929 Oxford, then further studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. Ph.D. From 1945 Orin Sage Professor of Economics at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., retired 1971. Married 1929 Mary Elizabeth Storer (1906–1975), children.
