CADELL, Patrick Robert. 6.5.1871 — Frilford Heath, Abingdon 22.11.1961 (when 90). Sir. British Historian of Colonial India. Son of colonel Thomas C. Educated at Haileybury, studies at Oxford (Balliol College). Joined I.C.S. in 1891, served mainly in Bombay Presidency and Sind. Retired 1926, served again 1932-35 as the President of the Council of Junagadh State. Married 1920 with Agnes Aimée Kemp (d. 1961), no children. Knighted 1935.
