FIERLINGER, Julius Josef Claudius von. Vienna 15.1.1862 — Baden bei Wien 22.8.1884. Austrian Linguist. Born as the younger son of Julius von F. (1829–84), an Austrian politician and finance expert who was knighted in the rank of Freiherr in 1876, and his wife Anna Daben (1830-1900). Apparently studied at Vienna and died before he could complete his studies. Unmarried.

Publications: Wrote a few small notes on Indo-European, Sanskrit and Avestan. No monographs (according to N.U.C. and Ges.Verz.): “Iranisches”, KZ 27, 1885, 193-196, 334-336, “Miscellen”, Ibid. 474-481.
