STACY, Lewis Robert

STACY, Lewis Robert. Oxford 11.12.1787 — Neemuch (Nimach), M.Pr. 18.7.1848. British Colonial Officer in India. Son of Rev. Henry Peter Stacy (1760–1808) and Ann Keele (1757–1799). Joined E.I.C.’s army in 1804, served in different parts of northern India. Participated in the first Afghan war. Finally Lieutenant-Colonel of Bengal Native Infantry. Married Sophia Maria Grimes (1795–1845), three daughters.
