IMPEY, Elijah George Halhed. Cawnpore 21.9.1818 — Southampton 19.11.1868. British Physician in India. Son of Elijah Impey (from Ireland, not the famous judge Sir E.I. [1732–1809], but probably related). Dr.med. In Bombay Medical Service (1841). Surgeon-Major and postmaster-general of Bombay Presidency (1861). Married 1843 Jane Anne Riddell, four daughters, one son.
